the dream girl

Okay, so [info]lkh_lashouts, which I swear to Lulz (dark patron god of the interwebs) is the Place of Most Random Knowlege Ever (have questions about animal sex lives? vampire lore? history? polyamory? ask and you'll get an answer and/or invaluable links) has ended up with another awesomely random discussion. About? Goths.

I heart that comm. Anyway, so it made me think of gothicness, precisely the dark and scary preteen years when I was 12 and discovered Anne Rice. Right about the time [info]sister_of_night discovered her, and then she discovered RHPS and... she knows what I'm talking about. Be glad we didn't have the Internet as it is now. Lest we might have had ljs and goddess only knows what we might have done with access to others like us. And then there was LJ Smith and our fate was sealed.

I think it's so weird that labels get to be so important to us. Who's goth, who's not, what it means. Who's preppy, who's a jock, who's a redneck, and is the emo kid in the bathroom again? doesn't he know that bulemic girl needs it? And I wonder what would I be like if there'd actually been a scene in Nowheresville aside from Redneck, Rodeo, and Country Club?

I'm a preppy girl. I heart boho and CK and DKNY. I practically worship at the alter of shopping and Vanity Fair. I still love morbid stuff and darkness and friggin windswept moors. And now my playlist has (thanks to [info]pandaemonaeum) Sisters of Mercy! EEeee! It's got that thrice-cursed Umbrella song too. I write about vampires. I wear trendy sunglasses.   And I'm in ur club, wearin ur corset. OMG.

In the spirit of fun darkity souls everywhere, I'll throw in some linkspam!

Ebil Games! Starring Deady. And music from Voltaire. Most addicting UndeadCareBearThing ever.
