I made a fanmix! Oh, yes I did! It's for The Secret Country trilogy by Pamela Dean.  

omg, someone has met my mom, and they made a comic thingy about it. 

And Laurell  K Hamilton put forth the first chapter of A Lick of Frost. ... The book is due out in October. I think I'll be decidedly not reading it.

Sorry I've been a bit AWOL. D is sick- in the hospital. The boy is never sick, but leave it to him to get something major the one time he is ill. They had to take his appendix out. So I'm trying to keep time to call and check in on him. 

Then of course this weekend is the 2nd largest tournament of the summer at our club ,and I was working it plus attending for Tom (my step-bro) and step-dad. They did pretty well on Saturday but today... it wasn't pretty. But last night was the Calcutta which I went to. Of course I had far too much rum, and a bit more tequila than is healthy. Got to bed around 4 am. 

In other news, I'm making plans for my super seekrit Vegas weekend with D. Which S and T may or may not be going on with me. I'd love for them to come, but... S's husband is an ass, and goddess only knows how her going will work out. And she doesn't stand up to him- she always backs down from him at the last second. So I figure I'll just book my ticket, or maybe wait a little while to see if T wants to go for sure. 

And the super seekrit Vegas weekend is only secret from my stepfather, who would flip right the hell out should he know. So he won't. See how this works? ... I know. It's goign to implode one way or another. Like right when mom forgets and says something about it. Hopefully that'll happen after I'm already gone.
