Well, I'm stressed, and that leads to me being freakishly experimental with photoshop. So I give you:

Behind which there are LARGE images )

Or, you can just click the links...

The Hollows - Rachel Morgan, by way of Vogue.
Dead Witch Walking Rachel Morgan series again, this a little different take.
Southern Vampire - the Sookie Stackhouse series, and very... purple. I don't know why.
graffiti philosophie - an exercise with brushes, typography and bright colors.

True Blood: Magazine Ad - a full page ad for True Blood, the upcoming HBO series based on Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire novels. And yes, Anna Paquin has actually been cast. That's official. So she's in the ad. Of course this isn't exactly what I turned in, but it's a version.

Amnesty International Poster v.1 - a random attempt at a poster for Amesty International's declaration of human rights.
Amnesty International Poster v.2 - a version that's truer to what I had originally planned, and is pretty much what I turned in.

My professor really liked the design of the Amnesty poster. I havent turned the True Blood design in yet.

I'm reworking the posters for a friend's Sexual Assault seminars, writing a paper on website traffic, studying for finals, and giving serious consideration to joining a role play. A journal based on. ... It might make a good distraction but maybe not. Still, I need to do something because with all the stress my writing is stalled out, sounding horrible and flat.

Also, so you know? Those three artworks up there? Did all of them in a 2-day period. Plus another couple. Plus the fact that that second Amnesty design was the wrong size for the printers (we got the okay on our roughs on freaking Tuesday and it was due today, printed and nice) so I had to run back home and rework it in less than 1 hour into an 11x17 design. And it still got kudos from the pickest professor ever. Oh yeah, I'm awesome like that.

A Cover for Byzantium

Pirate Girl - there are 3 of these as part of the package. Just go to the gallery.

I'm a minimalist, or I try to be with my designs. I keep stuff as simple as I can because I don't trust myself getting too intricate with Illustrator or InDesign. And when I'm drawing by hand in my other class, I keep it simple because I cannot draw. Someday I'll scan and prove that, but I think the less people who see my inkings, the better.

I concentrate on intricate coloring in my Photoshop stuff. I adore coloring. My design teacher was a little bemused by how I use coloring layers, like painters use color washes. I was bemused by that since I can't paint to save my life.

I also have some stuff I need to post to [info]vanity_made but I haven't had the time. I'm trying to work less with icons (although they are excellent practice for working in limited space, and keeping things simple, also for coloring techniques) and more with larger images.

Sorry. This is deadly dull to all of you, I know. So ignore all this text and go stare at the designs.

Hey, so, I finally decided that since I'm doomed to doing too much design stuff this semester, I  might as well make it all publicly viewable. And I knew you guys would love to see these, right? lol

Snake on a Plane - for some reason the thumbnail is screwy, but the full view is fine.
