Hi bb's. I'm new here and I'm so excited to talk about fashion and models etc.
No one understands my ~passion for fashion ok? I talked to a girl the other day and she was like "OMG fashion is my life, I love Dooney and Bourke purses" and I just curled up in a ball and was like "I can't talk to you right now, omg". I know that you can understand my pain.
So I just wanted to say hi first instead of just jumping into people's posts and having everyone go who da fuck is that.
Ok, to make this more interactive, post pictures that you are in love with and want to stare at all day long.

That's okay with me, but do you really have to bash the character in the story? Is it really necessary to make a lovely character extremely OOC just because you hate him/her?

I'm sure some folks will disagree, so season with YMMV to taste, but I'm gonna throw these out there anyway. Same fandom, different people.
1. You and your best buddy are somehow endowed with animal-related powers. I jumped in partway, whatever, I'll go with it. You decide that since your best buddy's powers are related to cats, and cats who have smelled catnip are funny, you're going to trick your buddy into eating catnip brownies, because it might have the same effect and that'd be hi-larious. It's not, and you're a crappy friend, and when it instead hops him up like a coke overdose, I'msnickering sneering at you (and still thinking you're a crappy, crappy friend). Also, considering that you're a top-seeded hypochondriac with life-threatening food allergies, you're out of character. (And yes, I remember the time in canon you drugged that same friend; that was kinda crappy too, but you knew exactly what the effects of that drug were since you and all 200 of your coworkers except him were subjected to it and he was a dick about that, so you were getting a mild revenge. Not parallel.)
2. Your culture considers anyone who exchanges more than ten words with you to be fully responsible for the care and education of your children, as well as their adoption and upbringing should you die. How nice for you. You've worked with a group of people from a very different culture for four years, and you know their culture has no such obligation. To them, being friends and close coworkers means being friends and close coworkers; involvement in family affairs requires discussion and may be declined. You impose on them anyway once you have a surprise!baby — without apparently discussing this cultural gap with them in any way — and are pleased when you wear them down to the point that they "recognize" "their" "responsibility" to your spawn. You're a culturally insensitive, crappy friend. Yes, even if they belong to the colonialist superpower and you don't.
Edited to clarify the first one by strikeout, because I don't think it's funny or entertaining even in the rebound sense.

When John Mayer was spotted partying until the wee hours with Lindsay Lohan earlier this week, we’d assumed the worst—that she was his latest conquest. But now we hear John was playing matchmaker!
According to the NY Daily News, John spent his night trying to help patch things up between Lindsay and her ex Samantha Ronson, who was also at Butter on Monday night.
Another clubgoer says, "Lindsay and Sam didn't arrive together. Lindsay walked in, and the two said a quick hello, but then Linds went to the table where John was sitting."
According to the source, Sam eventually came over to the table but sat on the opposite side of John. The source says, "Lindsay looked upset that Sam hadn't come over to her, and she started whispering to John, who looked like he was trying to calm her down. She looked pretty angry. Then John got up and went to talk to Sam."
And whatever John said, it reportedly made a huge difference to the girls! Apparently after John’s little intervention, Lindsay and Sam spent the night talking and laughing.
"Lindsay seemed happier than she has in ages," the spy says. "Sam eventually got up and deejayed for a while, and Lindsay kept standing up and looking over to the deejay booth, smiling."

Gwyneth Paltrow, Tim McGraw, Garrett Hedlund and Leighton Meester are set to star in Screen Gems' country singing drama "Love Don't Let Me Down," which Shana Feste wrote and is directing.
Tobey Maguire and Jenno Topping are producing via their Maguire Entertainment banner.
In "Love," Hedlund plays a young rising singer-songwriter who becomes involved with a fallen country singer played by Paltrow. They embark on a career resurrection tour with her husband-manager (McGraw) and a beauty queen-turned-singer (Meester). Romantic entanglements and old demons threaten to derail them all.
Production is set to begin in January 2010 in Nashville.
Screen Gems' senior vp of production Nick Phillips will oversee the project for the studio.
CAA-repped Feste was the filmmaker behind the 2009 Sundance drama "The Greatest."
Country singer-turned-occasional actor McGraw, repped by CAA, can be currently seen in "The Blind Side" while Hedlund, repped by WME and Brillstein Entertainment Partners, recently wrapped shooting Disney's "Tron Legacy." While McGraw and Hedlund play rivals in "Love," they were father and son in Universal's "Friday Night Lights."
Paltrow, repped by UTA and Brillstein Entertainment Partners, reprises her role as Pepper Potts in next summer's "Iron Man 2," while WME and Leverage Entertainment-repped Meester, best known for her work in "Gossip Girl," is featured in Screen Gems' "The Roommate," which opens September 2010.

Okay, Fantasy/Sci-Fi Elitists are going to want to roast me in flames for ABHORRING this novel. But I don't care. No really, I don't. Because it's bad. Very bad.
I tried not once, not twice, but three separate times. THREE TIMES to read this book. I had a similar trouble with Black Sun Rising by C.S. Friedman, but in the end, Black Sun surprised the heck out of me and it showed me it was not always the 'book suck' that made it hard to read, so I tried several times to get through my distractions and such just in case. Still a no go, with this novel. It's not that I was distracted, or bored, or having a bad day with my sinuses or something. The book sucks.
( More Suck Behind The Cut )
I hated this book, for those reasons. And I have no idea why everyone thought these were worth their time to read, much less make 12 novels (instead of 6, gasp) out of it. *shudder*

I read this on a plane on the way home for a visit. I thought it would be a fun read, because I love Christopher Moore. What a let down.
I didn't like the story, the characters, or any of the ideas CM had for this book. On top of that there was a certain scene involving Whale Penises that was quite gruesome and uncalled for.

According to IMDB, Smallville's Allison Mack is rumored to have been cast in the new "Scream 4" movie. The film is already set to star the original cast, including Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette.

According to Williamson, "The fourth one is an ensemble. It'll take place right now, 10 years later, and it's going to take place in Woodsboro. We'll have our three main characters [Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette] will indeed be returning for Scream 4 and we'll be introducing several more. We'll also be introducing a little group, a little ensemble of new cast members. That'll take us through the next three."

Coraline topped the feature film field with 11 noms. Disney has 17 nominations (eight for "The Princess and the Frog" and nine for its upcoming ABC TV special, "Prep and Landing"). Notably absent in the nominations is Ponyo.

The concert actually went pretty well. :D
My body hated me by the end of it because I was pretty sore before even leaving the house and I was standing for an hour and a half and singing for about 1/2 of that (there were also individual solos and smaller group performances).
Guitar class was a lot of fun today. We learned how to play Bitch by Meridith Brooks and played it together as a class after we had a bit of time to mess around with it. I was a dork and totally got into the music. XD The professor was very amused.

I'd really like to have a regular art feature for
told_tales, and I'm particularly interested in getting some of the art of our community members highlighted on the site. Because I know a lot of you are artistic types!
So, if you have fairy tale related art on a website, on etsy, for sale or not, and you'd like it featured here, please let me know! Leave a reply on this entry, or send me a private message on LJ.
I want to see your stuff! And I'm sure I'm not the only one... :)
